Unprofessional. They were also very cautious about costs.
I've been to this place twice and I swear it is better than any human practice I have been to.
Her ashes are in a well made wooden box with her name on the front and I also received her paw print and a poem. The doctor wanted me to pay over $500 in test before he even spent 2 minutes with my puppy. My cat went in walking eating and came back unable to to walk a few days later he passed.
Both Buck and I recommend this hospital for after-hour care. When our PK (cat) had a sudden seizure, we were scared to death. and he was very lethargic.
I came back in a couple of hours and he was ready to go home. Our time here was made easier by the friendly caring staff: the receptionist, the vet tech, and the doctor were all nice to us. My dog has been having grand mal seizures and Sage got me in right away. BBB Tip: Choosing a veterinarian for your pet, Need to file a complaint? Then they held my puppy hostage when I told them I did not want any more test. My dog can't put any wait on his leg now. When I went to pick up his ashes - a week later - someone had dropped the ball and his paw print was not taken. First class capabilities. I made the decision to have Jackson cremated and his paw print taken. Thank you for showing our dog Callie and us such great customer treatment. Unfortunately, that did not sit well with him and the night during he kept throwing up chunks of it. It starts from developing a quality team of individuals that are caring, respectful, motivated, and highly skilled. Then he started eating and drinking without vomiting and now he is home safe with his family without the added variables (or added costs$$$) that a surgery would have brought. I was able to spend as much time as I needed with Jackson in a cozy room with dim lights before - and - after his passing.
Disney Pet Hospital was opened by Dr. Bob Disney in 1972 at the current location. She said it was time to consider euthanasia given his age, diagnosis and prognosis. Apparently asking for itemized invoices of what services would be provided was too much. Excellent care has been provided to our fur baby every time we go here! As of this morning our bill came out to $5,100 exactly the amount of credit we were approved for from creditcare.com which is in some way affiliated with SAGE. The people and the pets of the Bay Area are our passion. Very expensivebut price isn't ever a thought during an emergancy. Always professional and courteous.
They have their own lab on site so there is not a day and night or more of worry waiting for results. Great surgical, post-care and communications. The unfortunate part is it appears to be a brain tumor. I've kept asking myself what I might have done to give this impression.Upon visiting our usual clinic the next morning, his drug sensitivities were noted in his chart without question, and fortunately he completely recovered in about 24 hours.I do not want to discourage anyone from bringing their pet here if it needs urgent medical attention.
), and the ER line item ($55) was applied toward my deductible (the $50 "exam fee" didn't count toward the deductible based on insurance coverage, but I expected that). The wait time was a bit long. I felt that I was in capable hands. My dog has been having grand mal seizures and Sage got me in right away. Odd coincidence. We are baffled from the fact that after 3 days of our dog Cookie staying at SAGE, 3 doctors have not been able to give us a definitive diagnosis and definitive cure. I have no doubt SAGE vets have seen some bad situations and need to ask about this, but we were left with the impression that she didn't believe our story and therefore wouldn't provide any specific care unless we could come up with another reason for the episode. It turns out both metro/drontal toxicity and unknown ataxia are treated the same (fluids and observation) so no care was withheld, but that wasn't communicated to us. SAGE is never really a place you want to end Five stars reflecting my experience of SAGE staff, their compassionate care of our family members, and the information and education they provided us with. I called SAGE (based on the overall best reviews for the 24/7 vet hospital nearest to me), and the front desk staff was thorough and even put me briefly on hold to ask not one but TWO veterinarians if they thought I should bring her in. My dog started to limp after running a couple miles (which we did daily) so I stopped running him in order to let him heal. I wish they would extend Physical Therapy to the Concord location, or open a place near by. The front desk staff is kind and considerate. The next day, July 7, 2017, we were told by another Vet who is supposed to be a Specialist that she still did not know the cause of the problem. So very disappointed I ever went there.
I've never been treated so terrible in my life, and to think during an emergency.
What a scam!!!! We have been serving the Concord community since the early 1970s! I paid them $221 for having my puppy for 3 minutes.
I just lost my long and detailed review! My cat was under respiratory distress (Asthma) and had trouble breathing, and since it was after hours for my usual vet, I went to SAGE.
Didn't try to over charge for unnecessary treatments. When our beloved Emi (dog) was diagnosed with IMHA, we found ourselves back at SAGE. This might sound like a strange review, but I believe it might help people out there. Expect a major incident like I had (very severe car hit on my dog) to cost $1,000+. Sad to see her to but they were helpful.
I will say, my dog's final bill came in $100 below what I was quoted, but it was still costly. I have had positive experiences every time we have come with our pets.
Will definitely bring our pets back here if there's ever another emergency. Later that evening, Dr. Groff called and told me he was optimistic about his recovery; Jackson was staying overnight for continued care. They were also very cautious about costs.
This is obviously a capable facility and they will take care of you. Keep it up sage concord! I unfortunately lost my pup but the cremation was nicely done. Would definitely take my dog there again. He gave me wet food (free of charge) and instructions for monitoring her as well as his personal business card if I had any questions/concerns following my visit. As a new dog owner, I was freaked out, but Dr. Groff assuaged my concerns and told me that he didn't feel anything irregular in her digestive tract. and he was very lethargic.

Your pets are our passion. No wait to get checked in and see a doc even at 6-7am. I did not have to wait long o My visit to Sage emergency care is a bit of an unfortunate one but this veterinary is five stars.
They offer top notch care -- surgery to X-ray to ultrasound to blood work to pain meds to IVs, you name it.
The next day he was still My mischievous puppy decided to go through our trash and eat some bones. They were very professional and did not try to "upsell" anything just to get more money - they advised me of my options and gave their recommendations based on Ziggy's symptoms and made sure to explain everything to me so no mystery in regards to what is going on.

I am so grateful to Dr. Okine. I don't think the pets best interest are in consideration. After this, our trust with the doctor and the team significantly diminished since we saw that the attitude went from supportive to "how much money can we get outta this cat".
I was prompted to write it since I received emergency care along with compassion and respect from another emergency vet more recently. BBB is here to help. From our heart to yours, thank you. And emergency's have happened twice to our family. Highly recommended! Horrible experience.. One ever really thinks of the emergency hospital with your pet. Highly recommend Sage for any pet emergencies. According to the Vet, the dog might have been bitten by a snake or a black widow spider, but they don't know exactly.
But on the flip side, I'm glad that they were prioritizing severe emergencies; seeing them take a cat in immediately (whose owner said she'd been bleeding profusely) made me feel confident that if my dog were the one in dire need, they'd see her right away.
Comparable prices to my regular vet regarding end-of-life expenses. I wish they were my doctors! Dr. Tracy Hardin and her team took great care of Ziggy, my cat. We are here because we appreciate and love animals.
I was prepared and expecting to pay a fortune for ER care.
We were shocked, after not hearing from our oncologist who had to take leave and their medical staff, that they were so unhappy with our questions. All the doctors, techs and assistants were great. Serving the San Francisco Bay Area with providing the important role that animal companions play in our culture and how they contribute to our health, happiness, and overall well-being. Top notch professionals. Plus, there's lots of staff -- at reception, nurses and doctors (8 Drs on staff). In May 2017, my recently adopted rescue chihuahua mix started panting excessively, and it wasn't hot enough inside my apartment with running A/C for heat to have been the cause. This might sound like a strange review, but I believe it might help people out there. Props to Sage veterinary for making sure my pal Busty didn't have any intestinal issues after moving into our new place a few mo the ago. They do not give you all options just quick to give an estimate Rude unhelpful staff especially in emergency. We arrived, checked in and then after waiting half an hour I went to the desk again; finally (!) I pray to God they didn't do anything evil to my puppy while they had him hostage.
Our team immerses ourselves in the wider Bay Area community and are proud supporters of our local. The price was expensive but the x-rays needed to be done. I've been to this place twice and I swear it is better than any human practice I have been to.
He was very lethargic and not eating or drink Sage is awesome! I really hate this clinic, Dr. Jason Dombrosky was the doctor who showed little compassion. My dog walker called ahead to let them know we were coming in and what his symptoms were.

The room must have been really clean or he did not feel well--he did not sniff around. Our cat was extremely comfortable with her and the tech/staff :) We are looking forward to our follow up appointment! Very nice vet and staff. Sadly to say the surgery was not a success even though 80 per cent of the time according to the internet this surgery worksmy dog had to be put to sleep. They took care of my dog and explored every possible option.
The entire Staff here were compassionate, friendly and attentive. It was super hot outside and my puppy got really ill. They are well staffed and everyone we encountered was competent, caring and seemed to be happy working there. In addition I heard staff making fun of customers. We expanded further with the addition of a full-service emergency clinic, Tri-Valley Animal Emergency Center (TVAEC), in Dublin in 2008.

I turned to Yelp when my dog was hit by a car at 5:30am today and I found Sage Vet & Emergency Cate.
5- stars. The surgeons maimed my dog. Follow up calls were missed twice but in the end we got in touch with a vet staff member. However, their lack of communication was what ruined this experience.
I was so worried so I would call almost every other hour to check and they were so patient with me.
So much so that they had the director just tell us that we were fired. I'm beside myself. She did not try to over sell any treatments or push more "exams" than were necessary on us.
This specific place does not care for your pets wealth. Its all about money! I did not put the windows down for fear that my boy Buck could be heard in the next traffic lane and I would be reported for animal cruelty.
Our dog threw up all over the lobby and they were very sweet in cleaning it up and comforting to our little old man (dog). We left with a discharge sheet that says he was "seen for ataxia. I had my cat put down here and although the staff was friendly the DR's totally overdosed her before putting her down. My cat was under respiratory distress (Asthma) and had trouble breathing, and since it was after hours for my usual vet, I went to SAGE.
When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.
I wake up angry every morning thinking about the horrible treatment we got. I've never been treated so terrible in my life, and to think during an emergency. She was able to diagnose my dog and had such a calming way about her. My dog showed no signs of injury until after he was treated by SAGE.
I realize my dog may not make it but I plan to keep her on medication until she shows signs of poor life quality. And keeping them happy and healthy is our #1 priority. He also told me that an x-ray was an option, but since a bully stick is tissue (as opposed to bone), it may not show on the scan anyway and he didn't want to put me or my pet through that experience and charge when it may not even have helpful results. I have elected to use medication rather than put my dog through a bunch of costly invasive surgery. This center does not do neurology and in fact no one locally does. Of note we still visit the Sage down in Dublin for our dog as our vet Dr. Dugas is the best vet, says my wife.
They are open 24 hours a day and have a security guard that watches the cars in the parking lot. X rays could not see a blockage but they monitored him very closely for a solid 24 hours while administering fluids. Wouldn't want anything less!
The first Vet at SAGE We took our dog Cookie to SAGE Center on July 6, 2017 around 10 in the evening, as he has been lethargic; shaking, suffering from diarrhea, and would not eat from the day before.
The office was clean. To become certified, veterinarians and our teams are required to complete a comprehensive, 8-part educational course and exam.
Inconsistent care right there called out by staff.
Don't go here - let your pup (and your wallet) rest.
His tummy had become tight, he didn't want to eat (this little guy was an eater!)
Its sad! They do not give you all options just quick to give an estimate and have money put down. The doctor wanted me to pay over $500 in test before he even spent 2 minutes with my puppy. At this point, after about 40 hours of our dog being confined at the hospital, the third Vet still could not tell us exactly the problem, and suggests that the dog may need surgery for the drying bruised skin area. The scope of available treatment was broadened outside of surgery by VSA's collaboration with Veterinary Medical Specialists, a talented team of internists and oncologists, in 2002. Cheryl (sorry I probably didn't spell that right) and Amy were so awesome and took great care of our girl! It was super hot outside and my puppy got really ill.
