I was thinking about energy blades aswell and I'm kinda curious how the energy shield costs for activation will scale. I could see 4-5k(before blade) pretty accessable to hit so your maximum damage added will be around 1k. edit: My understanding of battlemage is that it takes the damage from your weapon in your inventory (like everthing at the top of the info sheet when you hover over your item) and adds it to spells. Supports any skill that hits enemies, causing those hits to leech energy shield based on damage dealt. I'm still holding out hope that the level 20 gem will be a lot more attractive. There is definatly a very low point where taking a inc ES node will not be better than taking any 10% damage node and it quickly scales worse and worse. This build offers a very straightforward, basically one-button playstyle, even though it does utilize several complex mechanics. I think the "that energy" is the 80% that the buff is taking away. Overall, it's a NOT cost-effective build, but one that is definitely worth trying out because of various interesting mechanics and the most unique skill used.
