Check the audio out settings on your TV. Never had any problems with my soundbar until the other day. Some commercials are softer, but not all. That would be one starting point. The soundbar will not power on. From there you would need to connect one end of another HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT on the speaker, and the other end of that cable to the HDMI IN on the TV. Make sure none of the connectors are loose. If you find yourself pushing any of the physical control buttons located on the Samsung sound bar and those buttons aren't responding, you may be experiencing an issue with static electricity.
