The Castle is an amazing building with a rich history in a beautiful setting overlooking a beautiful lake. The village originated around a 17th-century castle built by Richard Townsend, whose descendants still reside there. This detached cottage rests near Castletownshend, County Cork and can sleep 11 people in six bedrooms. But, we were warmly welcomed! Quite off the beaten path but well worth the trip! My son had there, wedding reception in a marquee in the ground's It was a Beautiful day and the staff bent over backwards .To make sure my son and his bride had everything they needed for a perfect day and it was thankyou to Sharon and all the staff xx. The bedrooms are big and spotless, the staff are friendly and courteous and the Castle is full of interesting and unusual furnishings and paintings.
