A former ward leader in the Second District in Philadelphia, he was an inspirational leader active in several community and professional organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America, the National Technical Association, The Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, and Cooperative Manpower; he was a supporter of the Zionist Organization of America and the recently dedicated Civil Rights Museum in Nashville, Tenn.
