I chose a strapless wedding dress but I really wanted to lower the back and add straps so the owner came out to review the dress just to make sure it was possible. We have some exciting news! I loved loved loved my wedding dress!! If any small adjustments need to be made, we can typically finish those while you wait. The alterations were a bit high & didnt expect to have paid so much but I was running out of time & didnt have anyone I trusted enough with my dress. They were very professional and acted like Nicole was the only bride in the store.
Once my mom and I got to the store on my appointment day, we did a brief review of everything and then we were able to pull dresses. Denise was super helpful and the sweetest throughout the whole process! And guess what? The owner-lady was easy to work with, but I had one problem. They did require a credit card when one of my matrons of honor booked our appointment, but its because if we hadnt shown up it would have been a $50 fee. I ended up getting a dress by Justina McCaffrey, whom one of the owners of the store went to design school with- imagine that! An appointment is encouraged to make sure each client gets the focused attention that Weddings by Debbie prides themselves on. My dress was here in less than 2 weeks!! What I didn't expect was that the experience would reignite in me everything I loved about fashion, from the luxe fabrics to the meticulous workmanship. Since two of the bridesmaids were pregnant in March, we specifically asked how long we had to place the order. The best part about what I do now is seeing a woman realize she is just as beautiful as her friends and family already see. I pulled some dresses and she pulled some. They have satin couches where people can sit and watch you show off the dresses you're trying on. I gave Debbie a photo of a gown - she provided fabric swatches and measured me on my first visit. WbD has a seamstress who does alterations, and a cleaning/steaming/pressing department that will fix up your dress before bridal portrais and before the wedding day. Remember, your dress was ordered according to the largest measurement (between hips, bust and waist) therefore it will likely NOT fit properly right away. We walked out of the store, went to another bridal shop, ordered the same bridesmaid dresses and the same wedding gown - both of which where LESS expensive. They have an incredibly large selection of dresses, more than any other shop I went to.
